We researched the genres behind the 1148 artists performing at SXSW using
Booking Agent Info’s music industry database & other sources.

Hip-Hop, which make up one of the biggest shares of the lineup, reflect both legacy and new movement. You have legendary Texas names like Z-Ro, OG Ron C, Lil’ Flip, and Lil Keke, alongside newer and nationally recognized artists like Don Toliver, Vic Mensa, Ray Vaughn, BabyChiefDoIt, and Benny The Butcher.

SXSW has long been a home for rock in all its forms, from established names to newer bands. Artists like Alanis Morissette and Switchfoot bring major recognition, while acts like Saint Agnes, Girl Tones, and Winona Fighter represent the kind of discovery that has always been central to the festival’s music identity.

Electronic is 13%, and incl. artists like Mau P, Modeselektor, Disko Cowboy, and Trey Kams.

Pop at 12% incl. Lola Young, Passion Pit, Ben Flournoy, and BLK ODYSSY.

Latin music at 9%, incl. artists like Fuerza Regida, Chino Pacas, and Junior H.

R&B at 9% with artists like Bryan-Michael Cox, Tiara Thomas, and Ty Dolla $ign (who just released an album).

Country with 8%, incl. artists like Dylan Gossett, Ella Langley, and Lainey Wilson.

Reggae, Jazz, and Classical represent 3% of SXSW.
