Governors Ball just dropped its lineup, and the festival returns June 5–7 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in New York. We used data from Booking Agent Info’s music industry directory to see which agencies are behind this year’s bill and stacked it against last year’s numbers, and the biggest story is how much more top-heavy the festival got at the top.
Wasserman and CAA alone now account for 63% of the lineup, up from 45% last year, which is a pretty dramatic shift in just one cycle.
Wasserman leads the entire festival with 38%, up from 29% last year, which is roughly a 9-point jump. Their roster includes headliners Kali Uchis and Lorde, plus Baby Keem.
CAA comes in second with 25%, up from 16% last year. This year they’ve got a quarter of the festival, and their artists include headliner A$AP Rocky, plus Mariah The Scientist, Clipse, and Freddie Gibbs.
UTA and WME are tied at 7% each. UTA nudged up slightly from 6% last year, while WME fell from 16% to 7%. UTA’s artists include WHATMORE, Lexa Gates, and Between Friends.
WME’s artists include Dev Hynes, Holly Humberstone, and King Princess.
Ground Control Touring rises to 5% from 3% last year, with Hannah Jadagu, Japanese Breakfast, and Turnover.
ROAM lands at 4% this year, and that number deserves context: Arrival Artists had 9% last year, and since Arrival merged with ATC Live to form ROAM.
ROAM’s artists here include Amyl and the Sniffers and Evening Elephants.
Atlas Touring also sits at 4%, up from under 3% last year, with flipturn and Old Mervs.
10% of the line-up are repped by other agencies or artists who handle their bookings in-house.
