We took a look at the top electronic artists by Spotify monthly listeners to see who’s currently commanding the biggest audiences on the platform, and what the rankings reveal about the genre’s streaming landscape.

David Guetta and Calvin Harris are in a tier of their own, with roughly 86.8 million and 80.2 million monthly Spotify listeners respectively. After that, there’s a sharp drop to Marshmello at 55.5 million.

That longevity may be the most interesting part of the list. Avicii still ranks eighth with more than 41 million monthly listeners, while Daft Punk sits at No. 13 with more than 30 million despite neither act releasing new music in the traditional sense today. In electronic music, a strong catalog can have an unusually long streaming life.

There are also signs of how global the genre has become. France’s HUGEL is already No. 7 with 42 million monthly listeners. Brazilian DJ Alok is also in the top 20, while Germany’s Robin Schulz sits at No. 15.

Spotify monthly listeners are not a perfect measure of fanbase size, they can be heavily influenced by collaborations, playlists and recent releases, but they offer a useful snapshot of where electronic music is reaching the broadest audience right now.
