The Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash Festival, presented by SPKRBX, is returning for its seventh year at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois, from June 20th to 22nd.
Known as the biggest independent hip-hop festival in the country, we used Booking Agent Info’s music industry directory to research the agencies behind this year’s lineup and uncover which agencies are behind the bookings—while also comparing it to last year’s data.
The biggest takeaway? Summer Smash continues to live up to its independent reputation. Over a third of the artists performing this year—31%— handle their bookings in-house. That’s a major statement about the festival’s commitment to spotlighting talent outside the traditional agency system.
Among the major agencies, UTA made the biggest leap. They now represent 21% of this year’s lineup, up from just 10% last year. Their roster includes heavy hitters like headliner Young Thug, as well as NAV and Chance the Rapper.
CAA is right behind at 19%, slightly up from 18% last year, with artists such as Lil Tecca, Lil Yachty, and G Herbo.
Wasserman, while still strong, saw a slight drop from 10% to 9%, though they still booked major headliners like Future and Yeat.
WME also dipped from 10% to 7%, with artists like Trippie Redd, Ski Mask the Slump God, and BabyTron under their wing.
Independent Artist Group (IAG) represents 5% of the lineup, down from 6%, with acts like Yung Bans, Insane Clown Posse, and Bktherula.
Cara Lewis Group, with 4%, last year they had 13%, booked headliner Don Toliver, as well as Molly Santana.
MAC Agency went from 8% to 4%, bringing in names like Sexyy Redd and 1900 Rugrat.
